Bushnell Neo GPS + Out of the Box

Bushnell Neo GPS Rangefinder + looks familiar, it should be. This is a variation of the iGolf Neo that hit the market several years ago. Bushnell has long been a leader in optical tool for outdoorsmen; brands including Golf Bushnell laser rangefinders are top-notch as well as golf GPS units. This one is small, simple, portable and (relatively) cheap. You can not really ask for more.

The Neo + operates through a single button push after the unit is charged and turned on the golf course. Operation ridiculously simple. There are no programs to download, no membership fees and no direction to follow the mysterious operation. In fact, I wanted to see if the background of my Luddite would hamper the operation + Neo - not close. I have a Neo + operation is clean, fast, silently using only the quick start guide.

Because the Bushnell Neo offers some 16,000 + pre-loaded with U.S. programs, I think it should be easy to find mine. I was right. Private and public, the course is as easy to find as entering a few letters from the state and then the name of the course. Then I was ready to go.Bushnell Neo GPS + On CourseIt's almost as if Neo + last round of golf foursome I anticipated as I do. Catching the satellite is very strong and clean (a problem with some other brands), and tracked my location from the drop bags to the first tee.
+ The Neo has a distance calculator that tracks how far each shot is hit from the previous point. But the unit proved its worth doing what is best - your humble distance into the caddy supply front, middle and back of the green.

Players in my group, each equipped with its own GPS and laser rangefinders, Neo + compare with what they currently use. For ease of use, speed of access and portability, the Neo + can not be beat. Neo + proved to be accurate to about 2-3 meters from the laser seeker, which itself has an error margin of 1-page. Bottom line? The four loves + Neo.Bushnell Neo GPS + Conclusion

Room for improvement? Rather small screen works well in bright daylight or cloudy conditions. The afternoon shadows or dark, threatening clouds some challenged in terms of readability. The keys are made to resist accidental jarring - but it seems that also requires a bit more power than I use to grip the club. A little difficult to go back and forth. What makes it easier is the "automatic" operation + Neo. Having it on, almost nothing needs adjustment.

Another item? Charging is easy and can be done from an AC outlet or USB port on your computer. Neo + registration gives you access to the update program from Bushnell web site at no cost. + While Neo does not come with mapped hazards on the course, you can mark your own, such as distance to bring, and keep the points.

So if you're one of those still holding out for prices to drop or features to get a simple golf GPS, no need to wait longer. Here you get and the price + Bushnell Neo GPS is a very good package. When it comes to seeing the Bushnell Neo Golf GPS + in your bag, you can not ask for more.
